The Gentle Pull

The burnt wick of the aroma candle had been mostly submerged in its own wax. It had drooped due to being burnt and rolled over itself forming a 'u' to get drowned in its own wax. Due to this, the exposed part of the wick was barely there to burn and hence the candle was burning very low. The flame was almost as if it was about to extinguish.  During this time, a slight pull with the gentlest force to prop it sparked a new life into it. As the wick rose over the candle wax and was no longer submerged, it started burning brighter giving more light to the surroundings and thereby fulfilling its purpose. Similarly, all of us may at some time in life be like the burnt wick of the candle. When we are so submerged in our responsibilities that unknown to us our energies are drooping, all we need is a gentle pull to prop us above that sea of duties and commitments. And, lo and behold! Getting your leaves approved in IT Industry is a big achievement in itself. And for people from far-flung places like me, getting an extended leave approved is even more an anchievement. To add to it, the tickets get sold out like hot cakes. Little late in booking and you will be in waiting forever..!All these put together, I really did not know if at all I will be going home during the Durga Puja vacation or not..But somewhere deep within, inspite of all the adversity, I felt convinced that I shall be home for sure. The day came, excitement abrew I boarded my train with some minimal struggle. But what was it why was time moving so slow..Arghhh..! As I was starting to get restless with the journey that did not seem to end, one sms popped on my screen and as I opened, it read" Welcome to Airtel, Orissa...." My heart started leaping with joy. So here I was in my own state. The feeling of home coming is always un-paralleled. I realized something then; perhaps I did earn enoug...
